FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our two beach huts are located on Southcliff beach in Walton-on-the-Naze (Seaside Hut) and Holland-on-Sea (Capril Hut).

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW...

Everything in our huts are yours to use – please help yourself to the crockery and cutlery through to the toys and hot water bottles. We expect some wear and tear and occasional breakages, so don’t worry if this happens but do please let us know so we can fix or replace it.

Please leave the huts as you would wish to find them (for our next visitors) and take all of your rubbish away. Please ensure that the beach hut keys are returned to the key safe and the numbers are mixed up (not showing the correct combination) when you leave.

Please do follow and tag us on our Instagram and Facebook accounts (@EssexBeachHutHire) with any of your hut photos, and please let us know about your stay in our guest book. We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, so if there’s anything you would change to make your stay better, please do get in contact and let us know. If you have a pushchair or wheelchair you can still use our huts, although our Capri Hut is easier to get to. You would unfortunately not be able to get a wheelchair into either of the beach huts.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Prices are per day, 10am-6pm.

-Seaside Hut at Walton-on-the-Naze is £65

-Capri Hut at Holland-on-Sea is £80

If you'd like to access the huts any earlier or later than this, please just ask - these times are designed to allow time for cleaning between guests so we may be able to accommodate your requests depending on our rotas for your day.

You are not allowed to sleep in the huts.

DOGS

Well behaved dogs are allowed at our huts and on the beaches surrounding them.

Please let us know if you are planning on bringing more than one dog.

There are plastic bags in the hut if you’ve forgotten your poo bags - please help yourself, and there’s also a water bowl for you to use.

WATER, ELECTRICITY, GAS AND BBQS

We have containers for water in our huts which can be filled up and provide you with water during your stay. The sinks are not plumbed in, so please ensure the water containers attached to the sinks are there throughout your stay and emptied when you depart.

There’s a gas stove (and gas) for cooking, along with a kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, and pans etc. There are plastic bags you can use for your rubbish and plenty of bins around so please ensure you dispose of your rubbish before you lock up. If anything runs out, please let us know so we can replenish the supplies for the next visitors. The stove is in a black box in the kitchen cupboard and instructions are in the box. Please do not to leave the stove on unattended and fully disconnect the gas upon departure. (Note that the kettle may take some time to boil if you fill it up – perhaps just fill for the number of cups that you need). BBQs are unfortunately not permitted.

TOILETS

Both huts are within a 3/4 minute walk from the huts. These toilets shut in the winter (end October) and open again on at the beginning of April each year.

LOCATION AND PARKING

Our huts both benefit from free on street parking. Please see each beach hut specific web page for details and postcodes for sat nav.
